EXPERIENCE

Bruce Brownyard – President
Mr. Brownyard started his insurance career in New York City in 1970 working for CNA Insurance. In 1972, Bruce left CNA and began working for the W.H. Brownyard Corporation, a family business started by his father in 1950. During the 20+ years that he worked for W.H. Brownyard, the company was slowly transformed from a local retail insurance agency into the largest Managing General Agency specializing in writing private security guard, investigation, alarm and armored car companies in the U.S. In 1993, Mr. Brownyard left the family business and started his own wholesale insurance agency called Brownyard Programs, Ltd., which also specializes in insuring private security agencies throughout the U.S.

Mr. Brownyard is a graduate of St. Louis University having received his B.A. Degree in 1969. He is a licensed agent/broker in the State of New York for over 30 years. He is also a licensed non-resident agent and/or broker in 45 other states. He is a member of the Professional Agents of New York. He has been a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) for over 25 years and since 1995 has been a member of their Private Security Services Council (PSSC). Mr. Brownyard is a member of the National Council of Investigation and Security Services (NCISS), which is the largest association of independent security guard and investigation companies in the U.S. Brownyard Programs, Ltd. is a major contributor to the NCISS legislative fund and is currently Broker of Record for NCISS. Mr. Brownyard has been a member of his local Town of Islip Board of Ethics for over 15 years.

Helen Henner, CPCU – Executive Vice President
Prior to joining our firm, Helen spent 19 years with a large retail brokerage firm, where she was a Senior Account Executive, and then the Healthcare Practice Leader. Her unit handled a book of business with Professional Liability and/or Errors & Omissions exposures, and large Workers' Compensation programs. Her past experience also includes working for insurance companies, in Underwriting, Training, and Marketing capacities.

Helen teaches insurance courses at the Hofstra University College of Continuing Education, including: "Introduction to Insurance", "INS 21", "INS 22", "INS 23"; and "Insuring and Managing the Professional Risk." Hofstra presented her with an "Excellence in Teaching" award in 1997. The Insurance Institute of America presented her with Professional Leadership Scrolls in 1996 and again in 2001 (in 2001, this was in recognition of 15 years' service in teaching insurance courses.) She enjoys taking part in "Career Day" presentations at local High Schools, speaking on careers in insurance, and has made presentations to small business owners on "Insurance for Small Businesses."

Helen is a Chartered Property-Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and is a past President of the Long Island Chapter of CPCU. In addition to the CPCU Designation, she previously earned the CPCU Continuing Professional Development Certification, and the Certificate in General Insurance.
