Brownyard Programs History
The name Brownyard is synonymous with Security Guard Liability Insurance.
William H. Brownyard wrote the first insurance policies for security guard companies in the 1960s. With an education in law, he recognized the gaps in liability coverage within standard commercial liability for security operating on client’s premises. Bill Brownyard’s creativity, professionalism, service, and commitment to the guard industry continue today in the second and third generations of Brownyard insurance. William’s son, Bruce W. Brownyard, is today the president of Brownyard Programs and has carried on the family legacy with his son, Blair Brownyard, and daughter, Taylor Brownyard Guercio.
They continue today to focus exclusively on the insurance needs of the Private Security Industry. As Program Managers for one the oldest and best insurance companies in the country, they provide General/Professional Liability, Excess and Umbrella Liability, Workers Compensation Auto, Property, and Fidelity/Crime Insurance to private security agencies nationwide. Brownyard Programs currently insures close to 1,000 private security agencies from coast to coast and 12 of the top 40 largest security guard companies in the U.S.
